1.0 Statistics

1.1 Membership:
There were about 620 adult members on 24 October, about the same as last year's members. There are 575 child members, 42 more than last year (533). Since the children do not pay, this number could vary.

These figures do not include renewal of books as they are not currently calculated by the computer.

More and more people are using the Library’s Internet facilities, both our library computers and particularly our wireless access. We have no measure of this service. More efficient Norton censoring is now in place.

1.3 Inter-Library Loan:
The Library borrowed 136 books on Inter Library Loan, last year 179 were borrowed. These books came from 18 different libraries, last year we used 25.

1.5 Weeding:
over 250 books were weeded. More, in the Children’s Non-fiction and English Adult Fiction section, are in the process of being weeded. Encyclopedias, little needed reference books, and beloved elderly books were moved higher up to create lower shelving space.
